Craig Lewin is an accomplished marathon swimmer and marathon swim coach. Craig has completed the Triple Crown of Marathon Swimming and was the Fastest American across the English Channel in 2020. Craig has over 12 years of swim coaching experience. He has coached swimmers successfully across the English Channel, Catalina Channel, Lake Ontario, 20 Bridges and many more marathon swims. Sarah Thomas Swims: Sarah Thomas

Sarah Thomas, a decorated marathon swimmer and dedicated swim coach, has been passionate about swimming since her youth. Having competed through high school and the University of Connecticut, her love for the sport led her to open water swimming after moving to Denver in 2004. Despite living a good 30-minute drive from any bodies of water, her enthusiasm remains undeterred. As a coach, Sarah specializes in guiding adult swimmers seeking to excel in open water distances beyond the 10k. She brings a wealth of personal experience to her coaching, with noteworthy achievements such as the first Double Tahoe and Memphre Crossings in 2013, swimming 100+ miles in 2017, the first Four Way English Channel in 2019, and the first Double North Channel in 2022. A breast cancer survivor, Sarah personifies resilience and determination, infusing these qualities into her coaching, inspiring her swimmers to surpass their own open water swimming goals.

Dan Simonelli

In 2012 Dan founded Open Water Swim Academy as he had noticed a demand from people wanting to experience swimming in the ocean but needed guidance.nHe has since supported over 300 Marathon swims in various roles: coach, crew chief, kayaker, support crew, official Observer. Dan has swum the Catalina Channel twice, S.C.A.R. twice, English Channel, Santa Barbara Channels, various relays and other pioneering solo swims along the CA coast, as well as other places such as Hawai’i, San Francisco, Florida, New York, Mexico, Italy, England. Dan was awarded the Streeter Award (2015) for Service to Marathon Swimming and the 2016 Barra Award for Best Overall Year (2016) by the international Marathon Swimmers Federation. He has also been recognized on the World Open Water Swimming Association’s list of the World’s 50 Most Adventurous Open Water Men. Dan is the Director of the Around~Coronado Swim in San Diego, CA.

Nora Toledano

An accomplished biologist and seasoned open water trainer, she has forged a remarkable career in marathon swimming. With 12 English Channel crossings (6 Solo & 6 Relay) and the distinction of being the first Latin American to achieve a double crossing, she has truly made her mark. She was also the first Latin American Woman to complete the Seven Seas project, securing her place in the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame and earning a Guinness World Record for continuous swimming. As a dedicated trainer, she has guided numerous swimmers in achieving their open water goals, ranging from short distances to high-difficulty crossings such as the English Channel and the Bosphorus Strait. Notably, she trained Antonio Argüelles, the 7th person worldwide to complete the Seven Seas project. As a sought-after speaker, she shares her insights to inspire future marathon swimmers. She has coached athletes from Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Italy, Iran, Spain and Venezuela and hosts several open water clinics throughout the year. She is fluent in Spanish and works mainly with Spanish speaking athletes.

Sidney Russell

Sidney was a competitive age group swimmer and is a lifelong ocean swimmer. She coaches masters in La Jolla and does private coaching for marathon swimmers and triathletes. She offers free weekly coached open water workouts in Southern California for anyone looking to increase their endurance or to improve their technique. In 2022 she completed the California Triple Crown of Marathon Swimming which includes swimming the Catalina Channel, the Anacapa Channel, and the Length of Tahoe. Carly Miller

Carly Miller, a distinguished marathon swimmer and accomplished swim coach, boasts an illustrious career fueled by her lifelong passion for swimming currently based in Los Angelos California. With her roots in competitive swimming on the East Coast, Carly transitioned into professional coaching in 2016, influenced by her high school swim coach. She currently leads as the head coach of the open water program for West Hollywood Aquatics, serves as the Head Varsity & JV Swim Coach at Notre Dame Academy, and runs Stotan Swimming, a private coaching business catering to a diverse clientele. After a 20-year hiatus from swimming, Carly rekindled her love for the sport in 2015. Her notable feats include swimming the Santa Barbara Channel, completing the width and length of Lake Tahoe, the Catalina Channel, swims around Manhattan and Coronado, competing in North America's longest open water race END-WET and completing the California Triple Crown. Carly has also made significant contributions to her community by raising nearly $35,000 for the non-profit organization FORCE and over $17,000 for Heal the Bay through her swims. Intrepid Water: Shannon House Keegan

Shannon is SwimMastery Fundamentals and Advanced certified coach empowering individuals to swim with ease and keep their shoulders safe whether swimming their first 25 meters or their next 25 miles. Recently named Vice Chair of the WOWSA Coaching and Education Committee, Shannon has been swimming down rivers and across lakes since 2010. Jacques Tuset

A CSA approved coach in France and Honored as a swimmer in the International Marathon Swimming Hall Of Fame. Jacques swam solo across the English Channel in 2002 (Van Vooren Trophy) and a relay Channel team in 2014. He was the Philippe Croizon' coach in 2010 (The French Disabled swimmer without arms and legs). He swam the Gibraltar Strait, the Beltquerung strait, Jersey to France, ... and many other swims. He brings his vast swimming experience to all of his athletes to help them in their open water journey.

The Kings Swimmers

The Kings Swimmers team, comprised of founders Ian Muir and Kathy Batts, Kevin Murphy, and newcomer Phil Yorke, is distinguished by a shared love for long-distance swimming, extensive competitive experiences, and a drive to inspire a new generation of swimmers. Kathy and Ian have both competed nationally in lifesaving teams, while Kathy, also coached by legendary swimmer Kevin Murphy, has accomplished feats such as solo Channel and Manhattan swims. Kevin, a celebrated figure in the swimming community, has trained numerous successful swimmers and competes at high stakes. Ian has completed three solo Channel swims. Jeffrey utilizes his personal journey and open water marathon swimming achievements as a platform to help others. By leveraging his swimming pursuits for fundraising campaigns through the iSwim4 initiative and The Herren Project, he has raised thousands of dollars to assist others in finding a life of sobriety. He is located in the PA area and runs swim camps in La Jolla along with helping to facilitate custom camps on demand. He uses his experiences to help other marathon swimmers achieve their goals.

Ullswater Swim Place: Colin Hill

Colin Hill

Colin, Director of Ullswater Swim Place, was inducted into the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame.  Colin loves coaching swimmers from beginners to very experienced, as well as sharing his love for the open water. He is an English Channel Soloist - 10hrs 30 mins, completed several two way Windermere Solo swims and has taken part in many open water races and crossings around the world, including winning a 25km Madeira Swim Race. Colin has been Winter/Ice Swimming World and UK Age Group Champion for 450m (in 2023 he was Age Group World Winter Swimming Champion for 450m and 2nd in the 1km race).  Colin became the first UK male to officially complete the Ice Mile (International Ice Swimming Association). Former British Age Group Triathlon Champion.Organiser of the London 2012 Marathon Swimming Olympic Race. Qualified STA Level 2 Pool & Open Water Coach.  RLSS Open Water & Beach Lifeguard
